The Evening Primrose is a tall, but elegant plant that only blooms in the evening hence its name. The oil in the seeds is rich in essential fatty acids, particularly Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). GLA is used in the production of hormone like chemicals in the body called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are involved in the control of a number of biological processes including hormone balance.
